㈠ 10 個月讀完 300 萬字英文原著，給你分享 4 點經驗
自從年初定下閱讀英文原著的目標之後，10 個月過去了，到目前為止成績如下：
粗略統計約 300 萬單詞的閱讀量，其中《冰與火之歌》就佔了大半壁江山。帶來的效果是：
300天，平均每天 1 萬單詞的閱讀量，在高強度的創業和雅思備考過程中實現，可能嗎？
說so easy 是騙人的，但是也沒有想像中的那麼難。這么幾點經驗也許對大家有參考價值：
沒有單詞量硬讀原著是痛苦的。雖然很多人提倡閱讀過程不要頻繁查字典，避免打斷閱讀的流暢性。但是平均每行兩三個單詞不認識， 讀得似懂非懂的，何來流暢性可言？ 閱讀的快樂也大打折扣，自然很難長久堅持下去。
所以，必須要有基礎的單詞量。到底多少算夠呢？我覺得 5000 ~ 6000 是一個基本標准。沒達到怎麼吧？要不老老實會背完四六級單詞，要不先從基礎的讀物開始，比如《床頭燈》系列，或者《牛津書蟲》系列。
但是五六千單詞只是基礎，讀任何一本原著都會有很多專有的生詞，而且會反復出現。比如《冰與火之歌》就有很多戰爭相關的詞，《怦然心動》有很多心理描述的詞。不搞定這些詞，被它們反復折磨也是一種痛苦。
所以讀原著的過程中，還要不斷地擴充針對這本書的單詞庫。不要單純地查字典，而要用 查 + 背 相結合的工具，比如扇貝、百詞斬等。這些軟體都有生詞庫功能，查完一個單詞如果覺得重要，可以加入生詞庫。 利用軟體自帶的艾賓浩斯記憶曲線設置，每天循環背誦。 一段時間之後，當你搞定一兩百個甚至幾十個這本書的高頻生詞之後，你就感覺閱讀流暢度大大加強！
好的工具不僅可以提高你的閱讀效率，還能讓閱讀成為一種享受。
最基本的工具當然是扇貝、百詞斬之類的單詞工具。一般我會使用電腦版的，讀書的時候打開電腦隨時備查，比手機效率高很多。
不過更高效的方法是直接讀電子書，微信讀書、多看閱讀都是優秀的電子書 App，它們都內置英語詞典，哪個單詞不認識，長按即可查詢，大大降低對閱讀的打斷。重要的單詞再單獨加到單詞 App。
不過，終極的英文原著閱讀神器還是非 Kindle 莫屬了。Kindle 的各種優點我就不多介紹了，相信大家都了解。只提一點，那就是Kindle 商店裡很多英文書都支持『生詞提示』功能。完美的排版，讓生詞不再成為閱讀的障礙，體驗接近中文閱讀的流暢感！
更厲害的是， 你可以根據自己的單詞量調節生詞顯示比例 。比例越小，提示的生詞就越少。循序漸進，不知不覺之間，單詞量就上了一個台階！
不要為了『學英語』而讀原著，這樣你會毀了閱讀本來的樂趣。
首先，選擇自己真正感興趣的、真正想讀的書。 比如，我之所以能啃下厚厚的 5 本冰與火之歌，是因為我是個超級冰火迷。美劇一年只更新一季，漫長的等待過程中，看原著是最好的解渴方式。不僅能提前了解劇情，而且還能收獲劇中沒有的動人細節。
其次，給自己一個無法逃避的目標或壓力。 比如，我和很多人一樣，無數次在新年的時候立志學英語，無數次在一個月以內放棄。今年我為了堅定決心，果斷報了雅思。兩千塊錢的報考費是最好的動力。備考過程中，其他三科都挺枯燥乏味的，唯有閱讀能夠帶來樂趣，所以讀原著成了我最願意做的事。
最後，偶爾讀一些平時不會讀的通俗讀物作為獎勵。 比如《暮光之城》，說實話就是美國的校園言情小說。這類書的中文版我是絕對不會讀的，但是有學英語作為理由，我就可以光明正大地讀英文版。而這類讀物確實讓人輕鬆快樂，讀這種書的時候，你會忘了自己在學英語，只是簡單地找回讀書的樂趣。
讀英文原著是一件長期的事，切忌三分鍾熱情。要給自己定一個合理的時間安排表。
比如我個人是這樣安排的，每天睡覺之前，定期花 20 ~ 30 分鍾讀書，讀個幾千字沒問題。
每周末比抽一個下午，去咖啡館讀英文書。這個下午是專用時間，只做這一件事，沒有干擾的情況下讀個幾萬字基本沒問題。這樣下來，平均每天 1 萬字的閱讀量，並沒有那麼難。不知不覺中，就啃下來一本本英文原著。
給大家分享的四點經驗大概就是這些。最後，不要把讀原著看成一件多麼遙不可及的事情。想想你小時候讀書，那會兒你並不覺得讀書是為了學中文，只是單純地享受讀書的樂趣。但是在長年累月的積累中，閱讀成了你學習語言最好的方式。
